Description

TIME pedals represent one of cycling's most influential clipless pedal innovations, combining French engineering heritage with cutting-edge biomechanical design. Originally established in Nevers, France in 1987, TIME Sport specialized exclusively in pedal manufacturing, developing what would become an industry-defining clipless pedal system that prioritized rider comfort and performance.

TIME's revolutionary clipless pedal system redefined ergo-dynamic compliance by improving lateral and angular float, achieving an optimal balance between performance and comfort. The company expanded into mountain bike pedals in 1993, establishing comprehensive product lines that served both road and off-road cycling disciplines. This innovative approach to pedal design, emphasizing natural foot movement and biomechanical efficiency, distinguished TIME pedals from traditional rigid clipless systems.

The brand's credibility was forged through victories at cycling's highest level. Legendary cyclists including Greg LeMond, Tom Boonen, and mountain bike champion Julien Absalon achieved major victories using TIME pedals. Miguel Indurain's five consecutive Tour de France victories further cemented TIME's reputation among professional riders, demonstrating the pedals' reliability under the most demanding competitive conditions.

In February 2021, SRAM acquired TIME Sport's complete pedal business, including all road and mountain pedal ranges, cleats, and related patents from the Rossignol Group. While production has since moved from France to SRAM's Portugal facility, the TIME pedal legacy continues under SRAM's stewardship, maintaining the French engineering principles that made TIME pedals a preferred choice for discerning cyclists worldwide.
